Slovenski etnografski muzej kot osrednji etnološki muzej hrani preko 50.000 muzejskih predmetov. Med temeljnimi nalogami javne službe, ki jo opravljamo v muzeju, je tudi tudi razstavljanje predmetov iz naših zbirk na stalnih razstavah kot tudi občasne razstave, ki določene predmete ali tematiko predstavijo na sodoben in atraktiven način. Tako je muzej zaradi "odličnosti predstavljanja in sporočanja vsebin" prejemnik številnih nagrad.
