ATAK: Fan art. How to be a detective?
ATAK, a versatile visual artist from Berlin, will present his work at the Slovene Ethnographic Museum with an exhibition dedicated to two comic book heroes, detectives who played an important role in his artistic formation: the noir Dick Tracy of the American author Chester Gould and the adventurous Tintin of the Belgian comics great Hergé.
The exhibition presents an eclectic mix of original works, archival material and fan art – a diverse collection of works created by Tintin and Dick Tracy fans around the world. A large number of ATAK's adaptations of famous comics stories and publication covers will be on display, as well as Chester Gould's originals from ATAK's personal collection.
The exhibition thus offers a new reading of comic book classics and enables a fresh reliving of the adventures of the famous heroes. Indirectly, it also addresses the phenomenon of collectors and the question of identification with the phenomena of popular culture.
The day after the opening, there will also be a guided tour of the exhibition with the author, where you will be able to learn details about his creative work and the exhibition.
