Play and playfulness in the everyday life of adults

The article presents the results of an anthropological quantitative study using a questionnaire and media research into the forms and importance of play and playfulness among adults in their everyday life. Even though play is primarily seen as a children’s activity, it exists in numerous forms also in the life of individual adults. In the article, the author focuses on the anthropological aspects of play and playing, and on the interpretations and experiences of the survey participants.

Tolmin frika: From an exclusively work dish to a symbol of everything that is Tolmin

In the last 50 years, the role of Tolmin frika, a dish consisting of potatoes and cheese fried in a pan, has been greatly transformed, for what used to be an exclusively workday is becoming a recognised symbol of everything that is Tolmin. The dish itself appears as a local culinary speciality at public tourist and cultural events and in restaurants. But at the same time, the notion of frika is present in the language, folklore tradition and artistic creativity of different generations.

Museums in the first year of the Covid-19 pandemic

The article outlines the activities of museums around the world and in Europe during the covid-19 pandemic. In order to be able to carry out their mission and reach visitors, they had to strengthen their online activities, and because of fewer visitors they faced economic problems. The article presents in greater detail the activities and role of Slovene museums during the coronavirus crisis. The experience obtained through museums functioning in the physical, digital and hybrid environment is important for a reflection on the future role of museums and the ways they function.
