The article presents an anthropological study of local representations of the changes in a cultural landscape and the relationships between the actors of the landscape’s reproduction in the Trenta Valley. These representations reflect an integral experience of space (place and landscape) in which spatial perceptions, values and practices are inseparably linked. The locals incorporate their fears about the valley’s future in their perception of landscape changes and in their wishes to preserve the cultural landscape. The local representations of the cultural landscape are also expressed in their judgement of the roles of the key actors of the landscape’s reproduction: the locals themselves, weekend cottage owners, and the Triglav National Park.
