Goddess Lakshmi seated on a triangular mass of land which looks like the southern Indian peninsula, therefore she can also be seen as a representative of mother India. The reading of this female figure as Mother India, makes it a subtle propaganda print. She is being worshipped in the typical Brahmanical manner with a Brahmin priest. There is an owl next to her feet, an animal which is active at night, there is also a moon to show night in the picture. This owl can be read as Alakshmi who is the sister of Lakshmi and the opposite of her in qualities. She is the goddess of misfortunes and always accompanies Lakshmi. The print has been further ornamented with silver particles, 25 x 37,5.
