The article deals with Jalen's Bohinj related work into which the author wove motifs from Bohinj folk narratives. Two of his peasant tales - Cvetkova Cilka and Trop brez zvoncev - contain folk tales which have survived in Bohinj oral tradition of today. These dialect versions were compared with the tales in Jalen's tales and it was established that the writer made use of them to more genuinely present the specific characteristics of the people of Bohinj and their environment.
