The war and "Domestic Ethnographers"

The article verifies some issues of the international discourse between anthropological and ethnological disciplines in the light of the reception of Croatian war ethnography. These "war records" originated in a web of social, epistemological and communication contradictions and suddenly found themselves in a position, in which an exigent empirical example interrupted, at least for a moment, the elaborate post-modernistic discussions on the theoretical and textual constructs of scientific empiricism, and also put a temporary stop to the interpretative endeavours to harmonise the destabilised positions of the scientific subject and object brought about by the collapse of anthropological paradigms.
