Health and illness with the Zoques of Chiapas

The article explains the concept of health and illness with the Zoque Indians of North Chiapas in Mexico and analyses in detail then medical practices, preventive as well as curative ones. Special emphasis is dedicated to the differentiation between domestic and family therapy on the one hand, and specialist treatment on the level of traditional medicine. This differentiation is based on Zoque etiology and their classification of illnesses.
