The history of how Africa was discovered has been up to now based predominantly on Western sources and authors. This one-sided orientation has neglected the contribution of the Slav peoples to the subject. The author discusses several Slovene, Croatian and Serbian researchers of Africa. The article was presented in a lecture at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana on April 24, 1992.
