“You go for the idea, for the movement. To make something happen at last.” Political graffiti in Ljubljana as a reflection of current social developments

The article addresses political graffiti of Ljubljana, which are interesting in an ethnological or cultural anthropological sense, in particular as a reflection of current social issues. It presents an analysis of collected graffiti with diverse social and political contents and describes their characteristics in terms of contents and forms, as well as their connections with current social issues. It also explains the graffiti in relation to the ideological goals of subpolitical or activist groups, who advance social change by means of graffiti as a medium for intervention and communication. The article also presents interviews with three members of subpolitical or activist groups, who also write political graffiti as a part of their activity in these groups. With this concrete examples the author describes the characteristics and essence of such production.
