It Was In Spring ...

Screening of a documentary film by Indian creator Kanika Gupta

Screening will be held twice, on Thursdays, 5 and 12 August 2021, at 19.00 at the Slovene Ethnographic Museum, Metelkova 2, 1000 Ljubljana.

Art historian Kanika Gupta, activist in residence at the SEM, explores ancient Indian art and mythology, and connects them to the current environmental challenges. Her film It Was In Spring ... tells the story of a house that has been demolished together with its garden and trees, and replaced with the new multistorey building surrounded only with concrete. Through the everyday as well as ritual activities the film shows different understandings of construction and related loss of biodiversity.
