<p>The article entitled Stones, people and oxen (?), subtitled Memories of work in some Slovene millstone quarries, is a specific verbal conglomerate of the topography of known and discovered millstone quarries in Slovenia and an ethnological treatise on millstone makers; it addresses the duration and type of their activity, their mutual relations, skills, basic working techniques and tools, transport of millstones, communication with customers and sales.

<p>The article describes the development and activities of the Department of economy, traffic and transport of the Slovene Ethnographic Museum, taking account of the principal guidelines in the fields of ethnology and museology which had a major influence on the activities of the department in different periods. The article presents the department’s collections, their classification, the methods of acquiring objects, and a view of its future development.</p>

<p>The author tackles the subject of the generally only marginally treated transport of the deceased, the issues related to the physical transport from the dwellings of this world to those of the other world.The article's more general introductory part summarises a range of written information on how the deceased were carried or driven in Slovenia. After that follows the case story of a hearse from Smlednik near Ljubljana and of its driver. Finally it presents reflections of people's attitude toward death.</p>
